Try Homemade Smoothies

smoothieIf you find it hard to eat breakfast first thing in the morning, then a smoothie may be the answer. Blended from whole fruit, smoothies are an easy way to increase your fruit intake and hit the recommended ‘five-a-day’ target for fruit and vegetables. Experiment with flavours to discover what you enjoy the most. For a tall glass of smoothie, blend together:

  • one banana, cut into chunks
  • a handful of grapes, hulled strawberries, chunks of mango or peach
  • a small glass of orange juice

DIDYOU KNOW? Breakfast has multiple benefits. Children who eat breakfast have higher concentration levels. PLUS ... a recent study found that women who ate breakfast were 24 per cent less likely to be overweight than those who didn’t.
